Today is my 19260th day being alive. I still feel like a child in my head. An educated, experienced but young person lives in my aging traitorous body. I refuse to let age dictate my happiness.
Be kind when dealing with older humans. It’s very easy for them to get confused. Don’t assume that because they misremembered something that they have dementia. They may just be tired or distracted. Be respectful. One day you will be the old person.
Today is the day I officially start a new writing project. It’s easy when starting any project to feel overwhelmed. Keeping things organized and in perspective helps ward off anxiety. Adulting is hard. Which is strange to say because I feel the same in my brain as I did when I was in my twenties.… Continue reading Day 63
I don’t know what God is doing. I don’t know why the challenges are hitting the O’Gara clan so hard. Seems we get two steps forward in just to get knocked back five. What I do know is God is in control. He will bring us through this, maybe a little banged up, but through… Continue reading Day 55
Exhaustion can come in different forms. You can be physically tired and an hour or two nap makes you feel better. Maybe not ready to go grocery shopping better, but less exhausted. Seems that is how life is though. When important things happen they happen fast. A big part of adulting is… Continue reading Day 26
Big transitions come from little steps, small actions and tiny adjustments. When life turns your vessel around, keep adjusting your rudder a small bit at a time to keep your boat floating. Writer’s Log Day 22... Finished the draft of Prayer After Prayer, a new book I’m working on. Handed off to my first editor, AKA my mother. She gets a first look at all my work. Well, most of it. Why? Well, she’s my mother. Do you have a Mom? I mean you must since you… Continue reading Day 22
Today we officially started house hunting. We are a large family of seven in a shoe box house. I am sort of deflated. When we find a house that fits our family it doesn't fit our budget. If it fits the budget the house is always missing something. We have been renting the shoe box… Continue reading Day 21
