With all the bad news out there it is important that you take time to have fun when you can.
One of my habits is to surround myself with quirky and unique things. They mean nothing to anyone else and they are nothing of any monetary value. Things given to me or things I have found. The image is a few things in my desk at work.
Often children will say, “Hey I like that.” or “Why do you have that?” We chat and it makes me smile.
Think about what you can do for fun. It doesn’t have to be a big thing and you can do it alone. I have a annual pass for the zoo. Sometimes I go and sit and talk to the giraffes or the monkeys. I say to them, “Hello friends” and talk to them like they are friends. I don’t exhaust myself by seeing every exhibit. Just a few minutes of fun.
Adults seem to forget how to have fun. Make fun a thing you do. Simple as singing with the radio. Eat ice cream in January. Go down the toy isle in the grocery store and pick up a Hot wheel car for your desk at work. Order a happy meal once in a while. Remember what it was like to be a child and pretend? Walk through the wardrobe.
Do the adult things. Take care of responsibilities and have a little fun along the way.
