Unplug?

How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?

Unplug has two meanings for me. Unplug me from screens or unplug me from life.

Unplug me from screens is a daily habit for me. I just hang up the virtual Do Not Disturb sign on my screen and put the device out of my sight. I have a wooden box that actually has unplug written in the side.

Unplug me from life is difficult. Often I don’t realize I need for unplug until it is too late. At that point, I crash. Like the old blue screen of death, I am down and out until I get a solid reset. Sleep, then coffee sitting on my sofa looking out my conservatory windows for a few hours. Not that I have a great view but it’s calming. That usually does it .

Now that I have given unplug some thought, it has one more definition. I have unplugged from certain people. Some I have cut off to zero contact. Others I still have contact with but I don’t allow them to affect my life. They are not plugged in to my head or heart. They are required but not priority.

What does unplug mean to you?

Light & Love, Lori
