I became a librarian nine years ago. I have been at my current job for exactly five years to the day. I was in management for years in a job I hated. The stress was literally physically and mentally killing me. So I simply put my health and happiness first.
I quit my 64k a year job. Took a part time job making 24k a year and went to graduate school. Supplemented school costs and living expenses with my savings and loans.
Over a matter of a couple of years things improved. I woke up one day happier, not completely healed and life not perfect, but headed that way.
I admit my approach was drastic but necessary. I am certain if I had not made that momentous decision I would be dead.
Life is short. Happiness must be a priority. Be brave.
What extreme steps can you make to free yourself from stress?
