Porn

Now that I have your attention…

Shock words like “porn”, “sex”, “free”, “money”, “racism”, and others make humans do a double take when the word is written or spoken.

If a proclaimed Christian says a shock word like “porn” people get confused. Humans have preconceived ideas in their head about how religious people should speak and write.

How is it that Christians are not allowed to talk about porn, sex, or any other sin or shock word unless they are using it in the context of condemning it? That has never made sense to me.

Yes I am a Christian writer and from time to time I will use a word that others will gasp at. I might lose readers over it and that is fine. I won’t die or cry. I know my writing is not for everyone and I am ok with that.

Why did you click the link to read this post? Was it the intrigue of the word and you wanted to see what it was about? Were you hoping for a nice erotica post? It has been a long time since I wrote any sexy pieces of prose now that I think about it.

Look, words are powerful. They can be weapons or healers. They are not off limits to anyone for any reason. Anyone can use a word. It takes skill to use the right word at the right time for the right reason. At the end of the day, the word is just a word. It is how you weild it that matters.

Use words responsibly, humans. Words and language are what separates us from the rest of the animals.
