I have talked about trust being a choice. Loyalty is also a choice. Trust and loyalty are opposite sides of the same coin.

You can be a person who is trustworthy or not. You can choose to be loyal to some people in your life or not. I think that loyalty is situational and personable. I can’t be loyal to my husband and also to someone he does not trust.

Just as you choose carefully who you trust, be meticulous when placing loyalty. You are only as good as your word. Choosing the wrong person to give your loyalty too can jeopardize your reputation and cause you pain in the same way as trusting the wrong human can hurt. Loyalty is earned though proven trust and loyalty has limits. Integrity is the value of your own word of honor. Do not risk your integrity by giving someone your loyalty who did not earn it.

Trust few. Be loyal to those who you truly trust.
