Being a human #104
Love other humans for the simple fact they are human. No conditions. You do not have to like what they do, what they stand for, or who they are to love them. Do what YOU do in love!
To be human is to love unconditionally. This is one fact we get wrong more often than any other.
If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all of His mysteries and making everything plain as day, And if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing. If I give all I own to the poor or even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve got nowhere. So, no matter what I say, no matter what I believe, no matter what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. [1 Corinthians 13 – 1-7, The Message]
